Igor Kerin – Marie Curie Fellow at UCC

Igor has been working as a Research Assistant at UCC – Marine Renewable Energy Ireland (MaREI) – School of Engineering since April 2015.

Previously he worked at University of Zagreb – Faculty of Civil Engineering, Water research department (2011-2014) and at Hydroconsult designing LTD (2014-2015) as an expert associate.
From 2013 to 2014 he participated in practical course in one graduate course – Hydrology 2 and one under graduate course – Hydrology.

From 2011 to 2012 he participated in practical course in two graduate courses (Drainage and Irrigation 1 and Drainage and Irrigation 2) at University of Zagreb, Faculty of civil engineering. During his research work at University of Zagreb, he was involved in second batch pilot studies for Delft FM.

As a graduate student at University of Zagreb from November 2009 he has been involved in the bridge inspections of 105 railway bridges in Ireland. Some of results and developed bridge scour inspection methodologies are presented in his master’s thesis.

He registered as a PHD student at University of Zagreb – Faculty of Civil Engineering in 2011. Igor has published three scientific papers as co-author. Since his involvement in Hydrology classes he has been following and have interest in Flood Early Warning Systems. In 2013 he participated in Delft Software Days 2013 and has been involved in Delft FM pilot studies.

Igor is a member of two COST actions:
1. ES1206 – Advanced Global Navigation Satellite Systems tropospheric products for monitoring severe weather events and climate (GNSS4SWEC)
2. TD1207 Mathematical Optimization in the Decision Support Systems for Efficient and Robust Energy Networks
